LazyLawn Swap Waders for Bathers

A Swadlincote family whose lawn has often resembled a pond are looking forward to their first summer with artificial grass in their garden from LazyLawn.

Adam and Karen Elton moved into their new-build home in Church Gresley, near Swadlincote, seven years ago, and soon noticed a water and drainage problem with their natural lawn, due to the clay soil found in the local area.

“For eight months of the year our old lawn was so boggy it was basically unusable,” says Adam, 50 “and with our two young children and a Labrador it meant they couldn’t go on it without getting covered in mud – I was forever telling them to keep off the grass.”

Last year the Eltons decided to have artificial grass installed in their 50 square metre back garden, and contacted local LazyLawn licensee Haydn Ford of LazyLawn Derbyshire for a quote.

Haydn installed the new lawn in February, and three months later the family are looking forward to their first summer with a new lawn. Giving them the chance to Banish the wellies until the winter months and bring out the flip-flops and shorts to bask in the Summer Sun!

“It’s an absolute godsend,” says Karen, 39, “as the kids and the dog can go straight out there and muck about without us worrying about them getting into a mess, or bringing any of it indoors.”

Adam thinks other local people with similar issues might consider switching to artificial grass, as the type of clay soil makes waterlogged lawns a common problem.

“We’ve already had neighbours with similar issues around boggy lawns showing an interest our new artificial lawn,” he says, “and I’ve offered Haydn’s business card to friends.”
