LazyLawn in DIY SOS family garden rescue!

DIY SOS LazyLawn

The UK’s biggest artificial grass firm has helped transform the garden of a family from Manchester as part of a DIY SOS make-over for the hit BBC TV show.

LazyLawn came to the rescue of Stephen O’Mara and Rebecca Webb, and their triplets Archie, Grace and Isabelle, by rolling out 20 square metres of low maintenance, no mess Wonder Yarn.

LazyLawn was part of a team of local tradesmen who volunteered their time to transform the home of the family from Failsworth.

Peter Mangnall, of LazyLawn North Manchester, comments: “We were approached by the BBC to donate our services to assist with the renovation of Stephen and Rebecca’s two-bedroom home.

“When we saw the sorry state of the garden, which was a paved terrace backyard, we knew that a LazyLawn would completely transform it and create a nice area for the children to play.

“It was great to be a part of the project and to see the reaction of the couple when their new house and garden were revealed – they loved the LazyLawn and the fact they won’t have to mow it.”

Steve and Rebecca were nominated for the home and garden make-over after struggling to find enough space for their family of five.

The DIY SOS team, including presenter Nick Knowles, and local tradesmen had just nine days to complete the job.

Peter adds: “Due to all of the work being carried out throughout the property, we didn’t have much time to do the installation, but I’m proud to say we completed it very successfully.

“Our artificial turf is always a hit with families, as children and pets can play out in the garden without bringing mud and dirt back into the house.

“We recommended our Wonder Yarn 26mm product, as it is a really natural looking artificial turf and features our pioneering patent technology, which gives it the unique ability to bounce back and looks like perfect natural grass.

“Wonder Yarn features a ‘W’ shaped yarn with the ability to recover after activity, as the shape of the yarn forces the blades of grass to stand upright.

“LazyLawn is also incredibly fast draining, is fully UV stabilised to prevent fading and requires no mowing or watering and very little maintenance, so it’s ideal for projects of this kind.”

LazyLawn also worked with DIY SOS in 2012, donating its time and turf for Children in Need project in Scotland.

The synthetic turf specialist has already gained a number of well-known fans, including Amanda Holden and Alan Titchmarsh, and is the artificial turf of choice for JD Wetherspoon, Centre Parcs and Selfridges.

LazyLawn was also the first artificial grass brand to ever appear at the Chelsea Flower Show and has installed the Big Brother garden for eight consecutive years.

The episode of DIY SOS will air on BBC One at 8pm on Wednesday 19th March.
