The LazyLawn head office and specialist putting green teams recently completed a fantastic 9 hole adventure golf course at a leading holiday park on the south coast of England. The 1,000 square metre project was completed this March.
A high quality mix of three grasses were chosen for the different playing areas of the golf course. The Nylon Pro surface was selected for the putting green, Grass Park Senior for the fairway and a special 55mm version of the Lazy Supreme was used for the fringe areas. The combination of the grass suite gave a great finished look whilst delivering the necessary level of suitability and durability. The surfaces were chosen because of their high quality yarns, pile height and density specifications. The Nylon Pro surface is a professional level product and its consistency will ensure a fun but realistic game for all players.
The project works included ground preparation, drainage, base works, the supply and installation of artificial grass, hole cups and flags. The design was in keeping with the holiday parks location and the surfaces were finished into the landscaped areas which included large pebbles, large calibre marine rope and turned tantalised posts.
LazyLawn was ideal for this new 9-hole short game adventure golf course as the area will have to cope with a lot of traffic. And being a holiday park, the owners of the park need to ensure the area is an all weather year-round activity for its guests. An improvement like this also demonstrates the holiday parks leading position in the UK’s tourism industry.
