Channel 5’s Cowboy builders have again called upon the assistance of LazyLawn, with our North Manchester Team headed by Peter Magnal coming to the aid of Dom and Gabi to help surprise the Rashid family from Oldham.
In 2012 the Rashid family were so cruelly mislead and swindled out of £16,500 by a cowboy builder who has been targeting the Asian community in local area.
During the episode Dom investigates the builder in questions and discovers that the Rashid’s are not the only ones to be conned by the builder with a growing bad reputation and who also proves to be quite a task in tracking down.

“Lazylawn North & East Manchester’s success with Gabrielle Blackman, the designer we worked with on BBC’s ‘DIY SOS’, prompted a phone call for us to help out on Ricochet’s Channel 5 programme ‘Cowboy Builders’, where Gabrielle was now working. Apparently a builder had let a family down really badly and they wanted the help of the community. We jumped at the chance of providing our service. Even though we scheduled to carry out our 1 day installation, we arrived to find that nothing was prepared for our part of the project and the film crew weren’t there! However, now that we’d made the effort to visit the site, we might as well just get stuck in and apply our knowledge to provide a solution. We concreted the yard, altered and made good to the manhole and made sure the base was ready for the next day’s work. The following day we completed the installation as usual. A hug from Gabrielle and a massive thanks followed and we were on our way to the next installation!”
The programme was shown and the family just loved the grass!
The LazyLawn team left the Rashid’s with a no mud no mess solution, and with a space for the 2 young boys to practices there football skills without the worry of destroying the lawn!
