The roof terrace of the Hello building has been transformed with the help of LazyLawn – what was once an ugly rooftop has been converted into a more aesthetically pleasing environment where staff can sit and relax.

LazyLawn, the UK’s biggest supplier installed 44m2 of Wonder Yarn 36, winner of the Which? Best Buy award for artificial grass 2016.

Account Manager at LazyLawn, Hannah McCallum explained why the artificial alternative is becoming more and more popular, particularly on roof terraces.

“You can use it all year round, there’s no mud, there’s barely any maintenance. It looks incredible on natural gardens and on rooftops, so any areas outdoors, and it makes your outdoor areas so much more liveable and useable.”

LazyLawn is the low maintenance way to freshen up roof and terrace areas, in addition it doesn’t need watering so you don’t need a water supply to the roof like you would if you used real grass and it will provide a lush green surface all year round.

Artificial Grass on Roof

Lightweight and capable of draining heavy rainfall LazyLawn turf is installed with a drainage system on roof tops to enable rainwater to flow through it, so it is a perfect choice for this inner city scenario where green space is also limited.

In most installation cases, we suggest a 3-part system, incorporating a horizontal drainage layer, followed by a 25mm vertical drainage layer, topped off with the grass surface.

This system provides excellent vertical and horizontal drainage for flat roof systems, ensuring quick drying of the surface and additional protection of the roof system.
