The cold weather that has blighted us all for much of the year so far, makes one think more of Christmas than Easter. Yet the Easter Holiday weekend is almost upon us!

Whereas Christmas means Santa Claus and reindeers for children all over the world, at Easter the young people turn their attention to bunnies and eggs.

Long ago, the Easter Bunny was called the "Easter Hare" - hares and rabbits have frequent multiple births, so they became a symbol of fertility. Indeed, the custom of an Easter egg hunt began because children believed that hares laid eggs in the grass.

Like Christmas, Easter is essentially a religious occasion that has become heavily commercialised. And the seasonal tradition is about children going on hunts for chocolate eggs and sweets around their homes or neighbourhood, that have been delivered by the Easter Bunny.

Here at LazyLawn headquarters our very own bunny Lazy Larry is getting himself extremely excited about the Easter weekend.

The LazyLawn bunny is our company mascot - and he too is hoping that children all over the country, like those worldwide, will have their annual treat of sweets and chocolate eggs to enjoy on Easter Sunday.

Our LazyLawn bunny loves joining in an egg hunt. Especially with friends in the back garden.

Obviously, where Lazy Larry lives there is an artificial lawn. It means he and his friends can hop, skip and jump around the garden to their hearts' content without the worry of damaging the lawn, or going back indoors caked in mud.

That is the joy of a LazyLawn - not only can you chase around them looking for Easter eggs without fear of any damage or muddy patches, the lawn looks luscious green throughout the year.

It all means a guaranteed holiday weekend of fun for our Easter bunny. What an eggs-cellent idea it was to install an artificial lawn we he lives!

Thousands of enthusiasts flocked to Birmingham's NEC earlier this month for the Crufts Show, which is the world's biggest event for the dog loving community.

The show is organised by the Kennel Club annually, and this year attracted almost 150,000 visitors, while attracting an audience of 1.7 million to Channel 4's coverage of the event.

Among all those large number of enthusiasts and TV viewers is a growing realisation of the benefits of a LazyLawn for dog owners. And for those of you wondering how your dog would adapt to a new surface in the back garden, fear not - they treat this specialist artificial grass no different to the natural variety.

Indeed, dogs find fake grass enjoyable to play on. And yes, they happily 'do their business' - but of course, the beauty of synthetic turf is that it can be cleaned up immediately, and no one would be any the wiser! It is important to point out that an artificial lawn from LazyLawn does not suffer from a dog's business, and your lawn will be luscious green - and odour free - throughout the year.

For those of you proud of the appearance of your lawn, there is no longer the worry of the grass becoming victim of a dog's enthusiasm for digging! So no muddy patches, and no more worry about your family pet racing back indoors, paws caked in mud, and dirty tracks throughout out the house.

Owners of boarding kennels can also enjoy great benefits from installing an artificial lawn. As many boarding kennels owners know to their cost, having to maintain a quality grassed area for dogs to run and play is not easy, particularly throughout the winter, when rain and colder weather can cause the natural grass to become muddy and damaged.

So let us finish with a 'high five': five good reasons to be cheerful about the benefits of a LazyLawn if you are a dog owner:-

No more heavy stained or yellow areas.

No more dog runs on the lawn.

No more muddy paw prints indoors.

Easily cleaned

Your lawn looks gorgeous throughout the year.

A dog's life? It's a life of Riley being a dog owner if you have an artificial lawn!

So how do you make your Mum - or your wife, on behalf of the kids - feel extra special this Mothering Sunday?

Flowers? The tried and trusted. Take her out for Sunday lunch? You and everyone else, so good luck with the hunt for a table!

So how about doing something that might cost a little more than flowers, or a trip to a restaurant, but will be much more long lasting than flowers or Sunday lunch? Like treating mum to a luxury artificial lawn in the garden?

Just think of the benefits:-

* A pristine lawn to admire throughout the year

* If she is a dog owner, no more worry about the family pet going out in the garden, running around the lawn, and coming back indoors covered in mud.

* How much a happier mum would she be if the children, or grandchildren, could play out on the lawn for hours on end, without causing her the grief of washing down mud-caked youngsters, and free of worrying about a heavy addition to the laundry basket!

* Easy to maintain throughout the year.

* And cost effective too (compared to natural grass over 15 years) - so helping make for a healthier family budget.

LazyLawn artificial grass surfaces are becoming an increasingly popular option for many family homes, and the reasons we have highlighted in this blog are just a few of the benefits.

So if you wanted to make a mum's life much more agreeable, why not consider a Mother's Day gift that will make her life so much easier!

Install a luscious looking synthetic lawn - and let mum know just how much you love and appreciate her!

It's the school holidays, and the last thing you need, or want, is bored children on your hands.

You've done the day out, the cinema and fast food treat, and inflicted on them a trip to the shops. You've been on line and looked at all the options for entertainments and days out, but - frankly - it can become a bit expensive if you try to maintain the treats throughout the week.

So now they're in the bedrooms playing computer games, because going outside to play may be a non-starter due to the fears of damage to the lawn if the youngsters decided to host their own Champions League tournament, or just inflict some serious wear and tear - and with spring just around the corner, you want the back garden to look in good condition.

Well, with "a state of the art artificial lawn" (the words of Alan Titchmarsh no less), you need have no fear of the children slipping and sliding, running and jumping, playing football or generally just wearing themselves out with energetic activity. Even the family pet can have a great time, and not worry about being in the dog-house later for making a mess!

A LazyLawn can handle it all. And at the end of the day - indeed, the week - still looks as pristine as it did when the youngsters first went out in search for activity hours earlier. That is the benefit of a professionally installed synthetic lawn - the household's gardener in chief need worry no more about looking out of the window and see mud patches, tufts of grass all over the place, and the general carnage of children making merry on a wet lawn.

Oh, and it is worth pointing out, that when the children come back indoors, they might be a little wet, but they will not be muddy! Oh, and the dog will not run in treading mud all over the place, either. Not only that, an artificial lawn is safe. It is why more and more local authorities are installing artificial grass in public parks and other facilities.

Sure, it is great to have days out, and you only have to look around the internet to find all the options of children's entertainment during school holidays. But you cannot sustain that day in, day out - and there is nothing worse than bored youngsters loafing around the house looking for things to do.

But with a LazyLawn the options become much more agreeable. Safe, mud free - and the comfort of knowing that the lawn will look just as lovely at tea time, as it did before breakfast! It is why more and more households are ripping up the turf, and installing the artificial alternative. And the school holidays are just another reminder of the merits.

Oh, and talking of school holidays - it is not that long until Easter!

The arrival of February might well signal to many that winter is approaching its finale, and spring is just around the corner.

But winter has a habit of having a final hurrah. So if you think you have seen all the snow for this year, be warned – it ain't necessarily so!

Snow might well cause enormous inconvenience to the day to day running of the country, but there are many who await its arrival with relish. Like school children, who do not lose money by missing school, and for whom an unexpected day or two at home is the signal for the fun to begin!

Suddenly the garden then becomes the venue for intense fun, as youngsters relish the opportunity to build snowmen, and even igloos, and dust down the sledge and start dragging it all over the lawn!

Without wishing to state the blindingly obvious, snow is wet. So while the children run around the lawn throwing snowballs at each other, build their snowmen and igloos, or pull their friends around on the sledge, underneath that white layer is a lawn that is being given a very hard time.

Then the snow melts, and the lawn transforms quickly from a blanket of white to a wet, sludgy, and potentially very muddy, sight for sore eyes.

Unless, that is, you have invested in an artificial lawn!

An artificial lawn remains pristine through all four seasons. Be it winter, summer, autumn or spring, you will have luscious looking green grass to look at. And when it snows, the children, and even the family pets, can play and frolic around the lawn to their hearts content, without the worry of churning up turf in the process, and leaving a legacy of mud.

But forget the snow, and look ahead to the nights getting lighter, the days getting warmer, and the calendar nudging its way towards spring. After all, some supermarkets are already stocking Easter Eggs!

With LazyLawn, your garden will have weathered the trials and tribulations of the winter elements. And for the children, the snowball fights become the small-sided football challenges, or just the simple mayhem of general garden activity.

While many householders will fret about muddy skid marks, or the grass being hacked left, right and centre, those with the foresight to dig up the turf and install a plastic lawn can look on at the youngsters causing their mayhem in the safe knowledge that their lawn will still look just as beautiful at the end of the day, as it did at the start.

The same goes for schools and playgroups – and think how much wear and tear the grass suffers there! And what is more, the children will not even realise the grass they are running around on is not the real thing!

And this is why the trend to invest in a LazyLawn is increasing year on year. Whatever the weather – be it rain, snow or sunshine - youngsters can have fantastic fun in the back garden without leaving a mess.

And it is why our customers have been telling us of their relief and delight when the recent heavy fall of snow finally melted, without leaving any legacy to their lawn!

So plenty of fun, without any fret! Go on - spring into action, and consider the many benefits - Time to make your lawn a LazyLawn?
