It's Father's Day this Sunday. And your correspondent can only speak for himself when he admits that an ideal 'gift' that my two sons can give me to celebrate the day is by offering to mow the lawn for me.

This wouldn't cost them a penny, and they know it's a chore I detest. Surely a win-win situation, other than the fact it eats into their Sunday morning computer time! Ho hum, back to the real world.

But more fool me for not having had a fake lawn installed. Actually it is only because I am moving home soon that it has not been discussed. But trust me, it will be high on the agenda in the new home. The LazyLawn team do not need to sell it to me, though the more I see of their handiwork, the more convinced I am of the necessary investment.

LazyLawn is delighted with another high profile endorsement, after IKEA turned to the brand to create a ready-made summer lawn for its latest outdoor product displays.

LazyLawn were approached by the Belfast branch of the furniture assembly store to install 100 square metres of its low maintenance, hard wearing Wonder Yarn. The store was looking for an easy, hassle-free alternative to traditional turf to complement its outdoor products, such as garden furniture.

Ok, so the weather has not exactly been kind to gardening enthusiasts this yea - particularly as winter became spring, which is the traditional time that people start to venture back outdoors. Heavy snow the week before Easter? Crazy!

Thousands of enthusiasts flocked to Birmingham's NEC earlier this month for the Crufts Show, which is the world's biggest event for the dog loving community.

The show is organised by the Kennel Club annually, and this year attracted almost 150,000 visitors, while attracting an audience of 1.7 million to Channel 4's coverage of the event.
